Inter Vs Verona 1-0: Defender Matteo Darmian Scores The Nerazzurri's Winning Goal

JAKARTA - Inter Milan is back to winning ways in Week 33 of the Italian League which takes place on Sunday. Entertaining Verona at the Giuseppe Meazza, the Nerazzurri were forced to struggle to beat their guests 1-0 thanks to Matteo Darmian's only goal.

The defender on loan from Manchester United broke the deadlock in the 76th minute, just 11 minutes after coming on for Ivan Perisic.

After receiving a pass from Achraf Hakimi, Darmian confidently combed the wing before making a thrust and fired a cross into the far post area that goalkeeper Marco Silvestri could not reach.

Seven minutes later, Davide Faraoni managed to hit the ball into the hosts' goal, after snatching the ball from goalkeeper Samir Handanovic who tried to secure Milan Skriniar's header back.

But the goal was immediately disallowed because Faraoni was declared by referee Rosario Abisso to have violated Handanovic.

The victory over Verona makes Inter even closer to the certainty of the league title this season because Antonio Conte's team has 79 points at the top of the standings, 13 points ahead of AC Milan, who just played a day ago.

Meanwhile, Verona (41), who have lost four matches in a row, are stuck in 10th place and seemingly have to forget their hopes of penetrating the European zone, according to the official Italian League website.
