NTT DATA Report: AI Becomes Investment Priority In Indonesia

JAKARTA Although 2024 has passed, demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is still very high. In fact, according to the findings of NTT DATA, the company is still interested in investing in the field of GenAI.

In the Global Genai report distributed by NTT DATA, it was recorded that 97 percent of CEOs in various parts of the world estimate the good and significant impact of GenAI. Meanwhile, 99 percent of companies want to invest further in the technology.

Indonesia is one of the countries that prioritizes the use of AI. This can be seen from the rapidly growing information technology (IT) service sector. The government also took part in increasing because they continue to encourage digital transformation.

In addition, the government has always promoted industrial automation and digitization so that AI investment is considered important by the majority of companies. To invest in AI, companies need three main things, including cloud, cybersecurity, and analytic data.

From the NTT DATA report, the trend of investment planning towards AI is seen in various sectors, including logistics, health, and manufacturing. The hope is that with a focus on using AI, the company can improve customer operational and experience capabilities.

"In the APAC region, Indonesia is one of the fastest growing countries in the IT service market with high double-digit annual growth, and we are at an important point where AI integration can redefine the way business operates," said Hendra Lesmana, CEO of NTT DATA.

In the next three years, AI is believed to change the core company's strategy very largely. The reason is, AI not only assists companies in increasing operational efficiency, but also helps companies to become leaders in their respective industries.
