Leaks Of The IPhone 17 Pro Component Reveals A Surprising New Camera Design!

JAKARTA The upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models are rumored to be experiencing a massive design change. The latest leak from the assembly line shows the most significant changes that have long been rumored by the Cupertino company.

The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are said to be adopting a horizontal camera pillar, similar to Google Pixel's design. This pillar will stretch across the back of the device, with a triple array of cameras in a triangular formation on the left side. While the flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor are on the right side. It remains unclear why Apple chose this design, but similar leaks have appeared several times.

Leaker Majin Bu shares images on X (Twitter) showing the iPhone 17 Pro Max chassis made from aluminum or titanium that has gone through the CNC (Numerical Control Computer) process. The big circle opening on the back is likely for internal components such as the MagSafe coil or battery.

Several reports indicate that Apple may be reusing aluminum frames for the iPhone 17 Pro. They are predicted to leave the titanium material used on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro.

Apple is reportedly adopting a half-glass, half-aluminium design that can increase device resistance. Glass is still used to ensure wireless charging features, while aluminum can reduce the risk of collision damage.

There is also speculation that parts of the glass will surround Apple's logo in the overall metal chassis, which is likely related to the holes in the leaking components. This hole can also be related to new features such as reverse wireless charging.

Reverse Wireless Charging 7.5W

Apple is reportedly testing the 7,5W reverse wireless charging feature for the iPhone 17 Pro, which allows this device to charge wirelessly to other Apple devices such as AirPods and Apple Watch. Currently, the iPhone can only power 4.5W to Apple Watch and AirPods via USB-C, but has no reverse wireless charging feature.

Based on rumors, the iPhone 17 Pro Max thickness will increase to 8,725mm, up from 8,25mm on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The possibility of this change aims to provide space for larger batteries.

Apple is rumored to be replacing the iPhone Plus model with the iPhone 17 Air model, which will have a similar horizontal camera pillar design but with just one camera lens.

Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 model is expected to retain vertical camera designs like the iPhone 16, to further differentiate flagship models from regular models. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series in September 2025.
