Mount Lewotobi Men Eruption Again
LABUAN BAJO - Lewotobi Laki Volcano in Wulanggitang District, East Flores Regency (Flotim), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has experienced another eruption.
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), Geological Agency, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) launched that the ash column height of the eruption was observed to reach an altitude of about 1000 meters above the top of the mountain or about 2,584 meters above sea level (masl).
The ash column is observed to be gray with thick intensity leaning towards the north and northeastern.
This e rupsy was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 47.3 mm and a duration of approximately one minute 12 seconds.
Currently, Mount Lewotobi Men are at Level III (Alert) Status, therefore, the public and visitors are advised not to carry out any activities within a five km radius of the Southwest-Northeast eruption and sectoral center as far as six km.
The public is also advised to be calm and follow the directions of the local government and not to believe in issues whose sources are unclear.

The community around Mount Lewotobi Male is asked to be aware of the potential for rain lava flooding in rivers that originate at the top of Mount Lewotobi Men in the event of high-intensity rain, especially in the villages of Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru, and Nawakote.
People affected by the ash rain of Mount Lewotobi Male are also asked to wear masks or nose coverings to avoid the danger of volcanic ash in the respiratory system.
