Pramono Wants To Build Animal Health Centers In Each City/Regency Of Jakarta
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will build animal health centers (puskeswans) in five administrative cities and the Thousand Islands Regency during his leadership.
"Hopefully later at the end of my position every city and district will have animal health centers," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, March 13.
In addition, Pramono will also renovate the Ragunan Animal Health Center, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta to improve health care facilities for animals.
"Right now, there is only 1 in Kadganan. Therefore, it is important because the animals in Jakarta have extraordinary development. Cat lovers are extraordinary, even now Bobby Kertanegara has arrived at the Palace," said Pramono.
Today, Pramono received the record for most cat sterilization social services from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI).
Every year, the DKI Provincial Government has implemented a massive cat sterilization program. Since early January 2025 until now, the DKI Provincial Government has sterilized around a thousand cats.
"Indeed, in 2025, the Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting 21 thousand sterilizations for cat men," said Pramono.

Pramono admitted that he had also sterilized cats before becoming governor of DKI.
According to him, Jakarta's title as a rabies-free city must be maintained. On the one hand, Jakarta must also be a city that is friendly to animals. Thus, sterilizing cats is an important thing to do.
"Anyway, we will arrange that cats in Jakarta can easily live well because not everyone can accept it. In some places people are very allergic to stray cats and that shouldn't happen, then the population must also be limited," Pramono explained.
