Komnas Perempuan Reported About Naturalization Statement, MKD Will Call Ahmad Dhani Next Week

JAKARTA - Member of Commission X DPR from the Gerindra faction, Ahmad Dhani, reported by Komnas Perempuan to the Honorary Court of the Council (MKD) following his statement regarding the naturalization of the national team during a meeting of Commission X DPR with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and PSSI.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Honorary Court (MKD) Nazaruddin Dek Gam said his party had received a report letter from Komnas Perempuan.

"The letter is already there, I saw it yesterday. Yes, we will call Ahmad Dhani to try the clarification," said Nazaruddin Dek Gam when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, March 12.

Although he had sent a letter to the MKD, Nazaruddin said that Komnas Perempuan had not yet sent a representative to attend directly to the DPR MKD. "But the letter has been done," he said.

Nazaruddin confirmed that Ahmad Dhani was reported because of his sexist statement. "Yes, that's what is viral now. Yes, women are like that," he said.

Nazaruddin ensured that MKD would summon the Gerindra legislator for the East Java electoral district before the DPR's recess. Possibly, he said, the Dewa 19 band leader will be questioned next week.

"Before the recess, we will call. (Date) not yet. This Sunday, Thursday. (So) next Sunday, I think," concluded Nazaruddin.

Previously, Ahmad Dhani conveyed his controversial ideas regarding the naturalization of football players at the PSSI meeting with Commission X on Wednesday, March 5. During the meeting, Commission X and PSSI discussed the naturalization process of three players, namely Emil Audero Mulyadi, Dean James, and Joey Pelupessy, to strengthen the Indonesian national team.

However, Ahmad Dhani suggested that PSSI consider naturalization for players over the age of 40 by matching them with Indonesian women. According to him, the child of the marriage can later be fostered to become a great football player in Indonesia.

"Football players who are over the age of 40, great football players, we can also naturalize it, then we match Indonesian women," said Ahmad Dhani.

"Well, it's the son that we hope to be a good footballer too. This is a bit out of the box thinking, Mr. Erick, but it can be budgeted for the 2026 program," he added.

Dhani even believes that the descendants of the marriage between naturalized players and Indonesian women will produce top football talents. Not only that, Dhani also mentioned Islamic religions and countries.

"We are looking for only men, especially if there are Muslims, there can be four wives, sir. So there may be Arab players, Alzteria, Algeria, Morocco, many good players who are old we naturalize, sir, then our wives are here, then our children are fostered, sir, it must be sure the results are better because it is Indonesian born," he said.
