Minister Of Religion Not Planning Add Hajj Quota To Saudi Arabia
Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar said his party did not discuss additional 2025 hajj quota to the government of Saudi Arabia. It is known that this year's Indonesian hajj quota is 221,000 pilgrims.
"In addition, we have not discussed additional quotas. It does not mean that we will reject the additional quota. But I have to be careful. We have to be careful here. Because based on our observations, the lots in Mina have been completed with this quota, even the centimeters have been measured," said Nasaruddin in a working meeting with Commission VIII DPR, Wednesday, March 12.
The Minister of Religion said that the Ministry of Religion must be careful in proposing additional quotas so that chaos does not occur in the holy land.
"If we add 20 thousand, there must be a way out. Maybe later it will invade people's tents, invade people's buses, invade people's food, hit people's toilets. So that what we harvest is something beyond our expectations. So, if later there is a space that allows, it depends on the measured," he said.
However, the Minister of Religion did not deny that Indonesia could still ask for additional quotas from the Saudi Arabian government. However, the Ministry of Religion is still calculating the facilities and services of pilgrims during the pilgrimage. Especially with the quota of hajj officers.

"God willing, if we ask the Government of Saudi Arabia, especially now that the Ministry of Hajj, the Ministry of Health and even the highest person in Saudi Arabia, we have a path. Maybe if it's additional, it's possible," said Nasaruddin.
"But our question is, are we ready with the additional facilities without reducing the comfort of the quota that has been recorded? So we are still studying it until now ladies and gentlemen. What is certain is that our Hajj officers continue to ask for it to be added," he concluded.
