Vice President Gibran: Strengthening Important Supervision To Prevent Our Minya Cases From Repeating
JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said strengthening supervision in the field was important to prevent the recurrence of Minya Kita cases circulating on the market but less than the specified standards.
"Later we will follow up again. Monitoring is strengthened and we don't want incidents like this to happen again," Gibran said in an official statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, March 12.
Currently, according to Gibran, the government has intensified the circulation of Minya Kita's cooking oil in various locations, including traditional markets and grocery stores.
This is done to ensure that the Minya Kita products circulating in the market are dominated by products that have met the established standards.
"Checks and monitoring have been carried out in several places. In traditional markets, in grocery stores, all," he said.
Regarding the findings of Minya Kita's fraud, this started with an inspection conducted by the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman on Saturday (8/3) in the South Jakarta area.
At that time, he investigated the market on Jalan Raya Jagakarsa and found that Minya Kita was sold at a price above the Highest Retail Price (HET) which should have been Rp. 15,700 per liter, but sold for Rp. 18,000.
In addition, the Minister of Agriculture also found that the contents of the Minya Kita packaging did not match what was listed on the label, which contained only 750 to 800 milliliters. The Minister of Agriculture proved the dose of cooking oil by buying the product from traders at the market.
"This is clearly not enough 1 liter," said the Minister of Agriculture in a firm tone during the inspection.
After that, the Minister of Agriculture ordered his staff who participated in the inspection to carry out an expansion using a 1 liter measuring glass witnessed directly by the police from the Food Task Force.
This proves that there are still producers who package Minya Kita that do not comply with applicable standards.
Furthermore, the Minister of Agriculture revealed that his party had coordinated with the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police including the Food Task Force to follow up on these findings.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that if found guilty, the producer of Minya Kita will be punished and their factories will be closed.
