Polda Metro Changes Bahut Discretion Semanggi-Cawang Toll Road, Now Starting At 17.00

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has changed the time for the discretion to use the shoulder of the road on the Semanggi to Cawang toll road. Now, motorists can cross the shoulder of the road starting from 17.00 WIB.

At the discretion, initially, new motorists were allowed to use the shoulder of the road from 18.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB.

"Eating in the afternoon, especially in the city, we have advanced the shoulder of the road at 18.00 now at 17.00," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Wednesday, March 12.

The reason for the discretion was applied earlier was due to changes in the pattern of vehicle density or congestion during Ramadan. Thus, from the evaluation process determined that the discretion of using the inner city toll road shoulder was carried out earlier.

"So, after we conducted an evaluation, especially to welcome Ramadan, in the sense that this is indeed the case, the shift is actually only a little half an hour or an hour," he said.

So far, the policy has bore fruit. This is because traffic jams that often occur on inner-city toll roads, especially when they come home from work, have begun to be resolved.

"Increasing time travel, which was previously effective for 20 minutes from Semanggi to Cawang, is a speed so it will increase," said Latif.

For information, the police discretion has been implemented since February 24. Road shoulder points that can be passed start from Semanggi or Km 7 to Cawang Interchange.
