Released Last Year In Indonesia And Priced At More Than IDR 1.5 Billion, How Fast Is MG Cyberster?

JAKARTA - MG Motor Indonesia has one model that is quite interesting. The model in question is Cyberster, an electric roadster that has a sporty look.

Priced at IDR 1.7 billion, electric cars that have also been present in several countries are quite well received in Indonesia. In fact, more than 50 units have been sold since its launch last year.

In fact, according to MG Motor Indonesia Chief Executive Officer He Guowei, this car is also in demand during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 which ended on February 23.

"On IIMS this car sold 8 units at a price of Rp. 1.7 billion, and we maintain this price," he said, when met in the Senayan area, Jakarta some time ago.

The man who is familiarly called Alec revealed the fact that there was a joke about the price of this MG Cyberster. In fact, some had revealed that the price was getting lower, but that was not true.

"There was a joke when he first launched Cyberster here, at that time someone said the price was Rp. 1.68 billion and then they joked to us, the price was Rp. 1.48 billion, and yesterday's IIMS was Rp. 1.28 billion. But it turns out that's not true," he added.

According to Alec, this one car (MG Cyberster) is a pretty special model because it comes as an electric roadster. For that, he said not everyone likes the vehicle and only certain consumers.

"This is like a toy for rich people or hobbies. So, we are trying to maintain the price and also the value, especially when the rich do not think too much about the price. If we lower the price, it will drop the value. But we don't do that," he explained.

Specifically, the MG Cyberster comes with a combination of electric motors that generate a maximum power of 544 PS which can spur vehicles from 0 to 100 km/hour within 3.2 seconds. The all-wheel drive configuration and electric motor torque is 725 Nm.
