Another Blow For Zelenskyy, Trump Stops Intelligence Cooperation With Ukraine
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump ordered the termination of intelligence cooperation with Ukraine and military assistance.
"I think in the military and intelligence fields, the pause (which prompted the president of Ukraine to respond) I think will be lost, and I think we will work hand in hand with Ukraine because we have to fight the existing aggression, but also to put the world in a better place so that this peace negotiations can progress," CIA Director John Radcliffe told Fox Business Network.
Trump had previously said it was time to end the war, when he expressed Ukraine's willingness to negotiate and Russia's readiness to make peace.
Trump received a letter from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy containing Kyiv's willingness to come to the negotiating table regarding the Ukraine-Russia war.
"Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants more peace than Ukraine," President Trump said in a speech to Congress.
Trump also said he had carried out "serious discussions with Russia" and had "received a strong signal they were ready for peace".
"Isn't it beautiful?" he said.
