Following In The Footsteps Of Anies-Ahok, Rano Karno Promises Free Umrah For Marbot Mosques
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno revealed that the DKI Provincial Government will again hold a free Umrah program for mosque marbots.
This free Umrah program was previously run by former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Anies Baswedan.
According to Rano, the incentive program for house of worship administrators that has been running previously must be maintained and updated in innovations.
"So, we at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government want to bring back free Umrah for mosque marbots. In fact, this is a good program and we must continue," said Rano at the Ramadan Safari at the Jami' Almuawanah Mosque, Senen, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 5.
Rano revealed that the DKI Provincial Government will coordinate with the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) throughout DKI Jakarta to select those who are entitled to go for Umrah.

In addition, Rano also claims that the DKI Provincial Government will pay more attention to the welfare of the administrators of houses of worship of all religions in order to uphold equality and justice for all religious communities.
"Of course we also pay attention to other religions, such as following spiritual trips to the Vatican or to India, for example," said Rano.
On that occasion, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government distributed assistance for the Ramadan Safari from the DKI Jakarta Baznas Bazis to the DKI Jakarta Jami Almua'wanah Mosque DKM amounting to Rp35 million, 20 Al-Quran mushaf, and 2.5 liters of rice assistance as much as 200 packages.
