There Should Be No Lobby And Political Intervention In The Election Of The New President Director Of BJB

West Java (Jabar) Governor Dedi Mulyadi emphasized that in choosing the new president director (director) of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB) to replace Yuddy Renaldi, he must be free from lobbying and political intervention.

This independence, said Dedi, is to maintain the integrity of the West Java BUMD, so that it can continue to grow into a trusted bank throughout Indonesia, not just West Java.

"Because the bank must be independent. I say that there should be no political steps for political interventions, political lobbying for the sake of the election of the President Director of Bank BJB," said Dedi at the Pakuan building in Bandung, Wednesday, March 5.

Therefore, Dedi said that his party gave full authority to institutions that have the authority to select candidates for the president director of Bank BJB with at least four to five qualifications that he thought should be owned.

"The background can come from anywhere," he said.

The first, said Dedi, candidates for the president director of Bank BJB must be able to restructure positions in BUMD which he directed to become a lean institution ranging from commissioners, directors to managerials without any representatives or other terms.

"In the future, BJB must be a lean institution, not too many people. The number of directors is only three people. The commissioners are only three people. The structure cannot be representatives. I don't know what the banking term is, in my language there can no longer be a deputy director, a deputy manager can't. Just one director, that's the first manager," said Dedi.

Second, Dedi said that BJB's new president director candidate must be able to carry out human resource (HR) structure, with human resources deemed not capable at BJB having to dare to be decided as part of building the credibility of banking institutions.

This was also revealed by Dedi, in anticipation of the existence of employee human resources at BJB as an "tipitation" of officials.

"Because BJB is not a regional secretariat, but an independent banking institution that must be maintained credibility because this is an institution that has become a public institution. So the number of people must be accompanied, don't choose too many people who have strong service standardization," he said.

Third, the new Director of BJB must be able to reduce operational costs that are too high, because this causes inefficiency in the use of the budget.

"He must be efficient so that in my language, the operational cost is at least 45-50 percent of the total regulations in BJB," he said.

Fourth, Dedi also asked the new BJB president director to be able to streamline the number of branch offices which he said were too many.

"People who have the ability to carry out these four, even add five if they dare to lower the flowers in BJB, it could be the president director. If you don't have the ability, don't," he said.

Because, he emphasized, leading BJB is to bring the BUMD to a strong banking institution, has strong authorization in making financial management the best in West Java.

"BJB, must be a stimulus for development growth in West Java by providing excellent service to bureaucratic officials in West Java and providing the best service for development growth in West Java," he said.

The mechanism for selecting the new President Director of BJB, said Dedi, will go through the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) which is scheduled for April 2025.

Dedi emphasized that he would not intervene in the event and put forward the spirit of professionalism which refers to the four to five criteria he presented.

"We cannot intervene. Why do I say this as the voice of BJB customers, including the interest issue. Because this will be closely related to development regulations in West Java. If the economic organizers who today have honest consistency in West Java, especially with low interest rates, this will give birth to a qualified quality of development in West Java, in line with expectations," he said.
