KPK Chairman Asks Regional Heads To Reduce Protocol Staff: Don't Overdo Troops, It's Efficiency

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said efficiency can be done by regional heads by reducing protecholer staff. This step will certainly not affect performance.

This was conveyed by Setyo when giving a speech during the launch of the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) indicator in 2025. He mentioned that the KPK leadership had carried out budget efficiency because their protocol staff was not many.

"Yesterday I went to Magelang alone, it was fine, smooth, no problem," said Setyo at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 5.

Thus, Setyo reminded regional heads not to appoint many protocol staff. "Reduced is part of efficiency. Don't let too many troops," he said.

"Don't let too many troops. There are protocols, there are aspri, there are ADCs, there are operators, there are drivers, there are co-drivers, there are co-pilots, and so on, a lot of them. Imagine if everyone got an official travel fee," continued the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Ministry).

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto ordered ministries and institutions to make efficiency. This is stated in the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) for Expenditures in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.

The Presidential Instruction has an impact on the work from anywhere (WFA) and work from office (WFO) activities. One of them is implementing work from anywhere or work from anywhere (WFA) and working from office or work from office (WFO) for state civil servants (ASN).

Regarding this instruction, the KPK has done several things. These include reducing official travel, utilizing office facilities as much as possible for training and other activities to adjusting the number of employees in carrying out their duties.
