Dishub Asks Delman To Andong In West Java To Stop Operations During Eid Al-Fitr 2025

JAKARTA - The West Java (West Java) Transportation Agency (Dishub) revealed that animal or organic-powered public transportation such as wagon, sado, dokar, andong, and the like in several areas of West Java, was asked to stop operating during the 2025 Eid homecoming and backflow.

Head of West Java Provincial Transportation Agency A Koswara said this policy only applies in four regencies/cities, especially transportation located on national highways, or community homecoming routes, namely Garut Regency, especially the areas of Limbangan, Kadungora and Leles.

Furthermore, the Pantura area, such as Cirebon and Indramayu Regencies, and finally Bandung Regency.

"So it's like Garut, Bandung Regency, then the Pantura Line, the arterial route, right. It is very pronounced if there is a one way. Now, it is disturbed if there is a andong like that," said Koswara, at Gedung Sate Bandung, Wednesday, March 5, which was confiscated by Antara.

Koswara said the West Java Provincial Government, based on the direction of Governor Dedi Mulyadi, would provide compensation for the organic transportation in the source of traffic jams so as not to operate temporarily.

"The directive is to stop first, not operate. It will be compensated later," said Koswara.

Regarding the prepared budget and transportation details targeted for compensation, Koswara said it was still being studied, considering that this policy will only be implemented now.

The transportation was asked to stop operating for about two weeks, which is estimated to start from D-7 to D+7 Idul Fitri 1446 Hijriah.

"Two weeks stopped, was compensated first or not," he said.

Koswara also said that goods transportation was prohibited from operating during the homecoming and reverse flow of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri, including transporting basic necessities and fuel oil.

"There will be a circular later from the center. (It is prohibited to pass) toll roads and arteries. All goods transportation except basic materials from D-6 to D+6," said Koswara as well.

In addition, he said, it is estimated that this year's Eid holiday will be extended because it is close to another religious holiday, namely Nyepi Day.

Now, he said, the Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, is proposing an extension of the holiday period to intervene in traffic jams.

"There is an extension of the current holiday time, the Minister of Transportation wants to propose again. Before and after (Lebaran). In order to reduce the distribution of vehicles. If now it's not wrong, starting from Nyepi Day, what end is the date? Now, add it before. That's just a proposal from the Ministry of Transportation," he concluded.
