The Tourism Council Calls Fyre Festival 2 No Permit, Chaos Will Repeat?

JAKARTA - Fyre Festival 2, which has recently been heavily promoted again, is indicated to be problematic. The luxury festival, which will be held in Mexico, is said to have not applied for a permit to organize the event.

Last February Billy McFarland as the founder announced plans to hold a second Fyre volume from May 30 to June 2. He said the event would take place in Isla Mujeres, a tropical island in Cancun, Mexico.

Billy's decision to continue to use the name Fyre Festival has often been questioned. The new problem has been raised again regarding the licensing of the event which is said to have not been resolved.

This was revealed by Edgar Gasca, a member of the tourism council, Isla Mujeres, to The Guardian.

"We don't have any information regarding the organization of this event, there is no contact with the person or company. For us, this event never existed," said Edgar as quoted by NME, March 4.

Edgar Gasca has also tried to confirm this with the minister of tourism at Quintana Roo, as well as a hotel whose name is registered as an accommodation for the Fyre Festival 2.

Both of them both denied that they had ever been contacted by representatives of the organizers. So, has this festival incident that failed again?

This condition will make prospective spectators rethink to buy tickets, which will go on sale this week. With ticket prices and accommodation priced from 1,400 to 25,000 US dollars, plus poor reputation and the latest reports, the public will be much more careful before buying.
