Leicester Vs West Brom 3-0: The Foxes' First Victory In The Last Three Matches

JAKARTA - Leicester City returned to winning ways when they beat West Bromwich Albion 3-0 in Week 32 of the Premier League at King Power Stadium, Friday local time (Saturday, western Indonesia time).

The first victory of Brendan Rodgers' team in the last three matches has made them establish themselves in third place in the standings with a collection of 59.

As for West Brom, they failed to add to the 24 points they had and did not move from 19th in the standings, still nine points behind the safe zone, Antara reported according to the official Premier League website.

The two teams appeared aggressive at starting the match, when goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was able to knock off Kelechi Iheanacho's shot twice in a one-on-one situation, on the other hand, at the end of the goal, Mbaye Diagne's opportunity could still be blocked by Leicester defender Wesley Fofana.

In the 23rd minute, Leicester finally took the lead when Timothy Castagne sent a lure which was greeted by Jamie Vardy with a perfect shot.

Three minutes later, the advantage was doubled by taking advantage of a corner kick which ended with a Jonny Evans header.

Leicester who continued to press almost scored the third goal in the 29th minute, if only Castagne's shot didn't hit the post and an easy ball that Vardy struck could still be secured by Johnstone.

Four minutes later, it was Iheanacho's turn to break into West Brom's goal to complete a quick pass from Vardy to widen Leicester's lead to 3-0.

The three-goal advantage made Leicester appear relatively calm in the second half and they were able to reduce West Brom's resistance until the whistle sounded the game over.

Leicester will next host Crystal Palace on Monday, April 26 next week, a day after West Brom travels to Aston Villa on a semi-impossible mission to avoid the threat of relegation.
