The Attorney General's Office Opens The Possibility Of Calling Ahok Regarding Pertamina Corruption
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) opens an opportunity to examine former President Commissioner of PT Pertamina Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok regarding the handling of cases of alleged corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products of PT Pertamina Subholding and Contractors of Cooperation Contracts (KKKS) for the period 2018-2023.
The Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes at the AGO, Abdul Qohar, emphasized that his party would examine all parties suspected of knowing about the alleged corruption.
"Anyone involved in this case, either based on witness testimony, or based on documents or other evidence, will definitely be summoned for questioning, anyone," Qohar said as quoted on Thursday, February 27.
Ahok is known to have served as President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) since November 22, 2019 based on the Decree of the Minister of SOEs as the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) of PT Pertamina (Persero) No.SK-282/MBU/11/2019 dated November 22, 2019.
Prior to serving as President Commissioner of Pertamina, Ahok served as a member of the East Belitung Regency DPRD for the period (2004), the East Belitung Regent for the period (2005), Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (2009), Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta (2012), and the Governor of DKI Jakarta (2014).
Ahok submitted a letter of resignation as President Commissioner of Pertamina on February 2, 2024. The resignation letter has been sent to the Ministry of SOEs as Pertamina's shareholder.

In this case, the AGO established nine suspects consisting of six Pertamina employees and three private parties.
They are the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan (RS); SDS; JF; AP; MKAR; DW; and GRJ. Then, the Director of Central & Commercial Marketing of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Maya Kusmaya (MK); and the VP Trading Operation of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Edward Corne (EC).
Meanwhile, the suspects are strongly suspected of violating the SOE procurement rules and planning to import fuel oil. The AGO estimates state losses due to this case reaching Rp193.7 trillion.
