Members Of The House Of Representatives Asked The TNI To Sanction Superiors For Soldiers Attacking The Tarakan Police

Member of Commission I DPR Amelia Anggraini asked the TNI to impose sanctions on TNI soldiers and their superiors suspected of being involved in the attack on the Tarakan Police Headquarters, North Kalimantan.

He said the vigilant action by members of the TNI could not be tolerated for that, he asked that there must be strict and measurable sanctions for members involved.

"We encourage the Mulawarman Regional Military Command to examine and impose sanctions on the two levels and above starting with the Danton and Danki involved if necessary," Amelia said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 26.

He also deeply regretted that the attack had to occur between the TNI and Polri. According to him, the incident was not limited to delinquency by soldiers, but had led to actions that harmed the image of the TNI in the eyes of the public.

"We declare, do not let this incident happen again in the future, both in Tarakan and throughout Indonesia," he said.

Amelia encouraged the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief to improve mental, ideological, and disciplined development for its members.

According to him, President Prabowo in the 2025 TNI Rapim has given directions, which emphasizes the importance of the role of the TNI and Polri in maintaining the existence and upholding state sovereignty.

Amelia said the TNI and Polri are two institutions that are a manifestation of the state's presence, a manifestation of upholding sovereignty, as well as a manifestation of the existence of the state.

"The synergy of the TNI-Polri is very much needed in the success of the government's Astacita program for the welfare of the community," said the legislator in charge of the defense, foreign, and communication sector.

Previously, the Commander of the VI/Mulawarman Regional Military Command (Kodam) Major General TNI Rudy Rachmat Nugraha stated that his party had examined a number of soldiers suspected of being involved in the attack on the Tarakan Resort Police Headquarters, North Kalimantan.

He stated that the Pangdam coordinated with the North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto and the Commander of Korem 091/Maharajala Brigadier General Adek Chandra Kurniawan who took charge of the Tarakan area to resolve the case.
