Work Starting At 3 Fajr, Salary Of 139 Garbage Truck Drivers In Denpasar Increases To IDR 4 Million

DENPASAR - Denpasar City Government (Pemkot), Bali, raised the salaries of garbage truck drivers from the Denpasar City Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) to IDR 4 million.

The Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, expressed his direct appreciation for the hard work of the drivers of the Denpasar City DLHK garbage truck, by increasing the salaries of the drivers.

"Moreover, the person concerned has been working from three o'clock in the morning to transport garbage in Denpasar City," said Jaya Negara in front of the Denpasar City DLHK truck drivers while reviewing the recycling process for waste processing at the Denpasar City DPU which took place in Padangsambian Kaja, Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, February 26.

IGN explained that the salary increase was to encourage and support the optimization of sustainable waste management.

"I and the Deputy Mayor appreciate the performance of the truck drivers who have worked from three o'clock in the morning to transport garbage until 12 pm. Where you will get an increase in salary which will be budgeted for on March 1, 2025 and will be received in early April 2025 from the basic salary of Rp. 3,000,000 to Rp. 4,000,000," he added.

In addition to the increase in salaries, garbage truck drivers will get basic necessities and official clothes at work.

They will also get free health checks from the Denpasar City Health Office (Dinkes) considering the risk of work for drivers working from night before dawn.

The mayor said that later the truck drivers would be given the opportunity to become part-time PPPK.
