There Are Still Many Driver Violations On The First Day Of The Jakarta PSBB
JAKARTA - Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) have become effective today. The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya built 33 checkpoints or check points to monitor vehicles that violate PSBB regulations.
Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that 33 checkpoints are scattered throughout the Jakarta entrances. The post is located at toll gates, stations, and terminals.
For vehicles passing in front of the post, police officers will check the number of passengers on each vehicle. Four-wheeled vehicle passengers must not exceed half of the load capacity of the car.
"The technique is like a 3 in 1 inspection, we will stop, open the glass (car), see how many passengers are there," said Sambodo when contacted, Friday, April 10.
As of this afternoon, Sambodo said that his party had found many vehicle violations. They still carry large numbers of passengers.
"There have been many violations. (Violators) will be reversed for a while," he said.
In addition to violations on the number of passengers, violations were also found in the form of motorbike drivers who did not wear masks. To the offenders, the police have not given sanctions, but only in the form of appeals. Furthermore, they are not allowed to enter the Jakarta area.
For information, the Capital City officially enforces the Big Brotherhood Social Restrictions (PSBB) today. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has issued Governor Regulation Number 33 of 2020 which regulates the implementation of the PSBB.
