Jokowi - Ahok Shows Off Salary Slips In Today's Memory, February 21, 2013

JAKARTA Memories of today, 12 years ago, February 21, 2013, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) showed off their payslips as state officials through the Ahok.org page. The efforts were made by the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta in the context of transparency of income.

Previously, the 2012 DKI Jakarta Pilgub was even more lively with the presence of the Jokowi-Ahok pair. Both are considered to be able to present changes in Jakarta. Jokowi-Ahok also declared himself to make Jakarta more humane.

The position of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta is often a fight. Whoever can win that position will surely skyrocket in popularity. It's just a cagub and the cawagub concerned has already caught the attention of many people.

The narrative occurred when Jokowi-Ahok's name surfaced. Both were paired with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) to bring about change.

Jokowi with his brilliant record of leading the city of Solo. Ahok with his brilliant record of leading the city of East Belitung. This record made the party machines confident that both of them could win the 2012 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

The two opponents who are considered strong only lead to Fauzi Bowo-Nachrowi Ramli (Foke-Nara). At first, the DKI Jakarta Pilkada went hard for Jokowi-Ahok. Both are considered not to represent the Betawi tribe.

In particular, Jakarta residents are not too fixated on the origin of the cagub and cawagub. Jakarta residents want change. Jokowi and Ahok made many political promises. Finally, Jokowi-Ahok became the elected Jakarta leader.

Both of them tried to make a big breakthrough. Bureaucratics are trying to be fixed. Jakarta's face is trying to be beautified. Extortion-extortion is trying to be fought. Flood prevention efforts are also piled up. Both also want all Jakarta residents not to drop out of school with the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).

Jokowi and Basuki may raise hope for the residents of Jakarta: they will lead the capital more humanely. When leading the city of Solo, Jokowi is known to be very humane. He, for example, asked the Civil Service Police Unit to 'hold' their bats and pistols.

Jokowi was also able to move the market traders' area without turmoil. When he became the Regent of East Belitung, Bangka-Belitung Province, Basuki was also quite grounded," wrote a Tempo Magazine report entitled New Governor of Jakarta Lama (2012).

Unrelenting breakthroughs are being carried out. Both of them even continue to attract the attention of Jakarta residents. His latest breakthrough was Jokowi-Ahok showing off his salary slip via the Ahok.org page on February 21, 2013.

The Ahok.org site uploaded three pictures. Each of the salary attachments in February 2013, attachments in the amount of allowances in February 2013, and proof of deposit slips (paids and allowances after tax cuts in February 2013.

The salary slip tells many people that Jokowi receives a salary of Rp. 3,448,500 with details of a basic salary of Rp. 3 million, a wife's allowance of Rp. 300 thousand, a child's allowance of Rp. 60 thousand, and a rice allowance of Rp. 270 thousand. Jokowi's own allowance reaches Rp. 5,130,000.

Ahok also has details of his own salary. Ahok received a salary of Rp2,810,100 with details of a basic salary of Rp2.4 million, a wife's allowance of Rp240 thousand, a child's allowance of Rp48 thousand, and a rice allowance of Rp270 thousand. Ahok's own allowance reaches 4,104,000.

The salary received was outside other incentives which reached hundreds of millions. Jokowi-Ahok's courage to show off was appreciated by many parties. Ahok also mentioned the effort to show off salary slips as a form of transparency.

"So that everyone knows and is transparent. Everyone knows my salary and the governor. I think if I live in this house, you know how much I earn. Then, if we become officials, right, we can no longer work elsewhere," Ahok said the day after, as quoted by the quarternews website, February 22, 2013.
