Prabowo Inaugurates 961 Regional Heads At The Presidential Palace At 10 Tomorrow Morning

President Prabowo Subianto will simultaneously inaugurate 961 regional heads selected as a result of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (20/2).

"The inauguration ceremony will be chaired directly by President Prabowo Subianto, who will take the oath of office of elected regional heads," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 19.

Yusuf said the inauguration of the regional head was the first time it was held simultaneously at the Presidential Palace, marking a new chapter in local governance in Indonesia.

A total of 961 regional heads who were inaugurated consisted of 33 governors and 33 deputy governors, 363 regents, 362 deputy regents, 85 mayors, and 85 deputy mayors. They will be sworn in in a series of processions.

President Prabowo is also scheduled to convey a mandate to newly appointed regional heads.

Prior to the inauguration, regional heads first participated in the procession of the carnival from the National Monument to the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

Yusuf said the inauguration of the regional head was a historic moment that marked the government's strong commitment to creating a more effective, efficient, transparent, and public service-oriented regional government.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto said as many as 481 pairs of candidates for head and deputy regional heads elected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada would be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday starting at 10.00 WIB.

Before undergoing the inauguration, the 481 pairs of candidates for regional heads will follow the briefing by the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Tomsi Tohir in the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, at 07.00 WIB.

Furthermore, as many as 503 pairs of candidates for head and deputy regional heads elected from the 2024 Pilkada will undergo briefing at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, on February 21 to 28, 2025.
