Trump Considered France Makes Noise Because Of President Zelenskiy's Nose In The War Of Ukraine
JAKARTA - France wondered why US President Donald Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was to blame for Russia's invasion of his country and the war it caused.
"We don't understand the logic well," French government spokesman Sophie Primas told reporters.
He said Trump had made a number of statements about Ukraine over the past few days without consulting with his European allies.
Trump in comments to reporters on Tuesday, said: "You've been there for three years," referring to concerns Ukraine was not included in talks between Russia and the United States.
"You shouldn't have started it. You could have made a deal," Trump said.
The bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War Two began in 2022, when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a special military operation in Ukraine.
Ukraine and its European allies were shocked by Washington and Moscow's decision to hold peace talks in Saudi Arabia this week.
Ukraine says it will not accept an applicable deal without its approval, which European leaders also voiced.
While Russia rules out the handover of territory they have won.
French President Emmanuel Macron will hold an informal meeting on Ukraine with several European leaders and Canadian NATO allies at 4 p.m. local time, following a similar meeting with Britain, Italy, Germany, Spain, the European Union, Denmark, and the Netherlands on Monday.

Ahead of negotiations on Wednesday, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said although there has been no full agreement in the European Union on how to move forward, these countries have managed to achieve much in the European Union framework.
He said it was important for Ukrainian supporters to do everything possible to put Kyiv in a strong position.
"Everyone seems to believe that Russia wants to negotiate peace. I'm not sure at all about that. So we have to remain calm and continue to support Ukraine," said Ulf Kristersson.
