Supreme Court Resolves 30,908 Cases In 2024, Productivity Exceeds 99 Percent
JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) managed to decide as many as 30,908 cases throughout 2024 out of a total of 31,138 caseloads, so that the productivity ratio to decide cases reached 99.26 percent.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court Sunarto in the 2024 MA Annual Report, Wednesday, February 19. He said the number of cases that had not been decided by the end of 2024 was only 0.74 percent.
"Throughout 2024, the Supreme Court has succeeded in deciding cases of 30,908. This number has increased by 12.95 percent compared to 2023 which decided as many as 27,365 cases," said Sunarto in his speech.
Of the total caseload handled, 30,991 cases were cases that entered in 2024, plus 147 remaining cases from 2023. This number increased by 13.18 percent compared to the previous year which received 27,512 cases.
The increased caseload was handled by 45 Supreme Court justices. Meanwhile, corruption cases (tipikor) and industrial relations disputes (PHI) were also handled by nine ad hoc judges, consisting of four ad hoc corruption judges and five ad hoc PHI judges.
"Thus, the average workload of each Supreme Court judge in one year reaches 2,076 case files," explained the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
The productivity ratio for case termination above 99 percent is not the first time that the Supreme Court has achieved. According to Sunarto, this figure has been maintained for five consecutive years.
In terms of timeliness in deciding cases, as many as 30,653 cases or 99.17 percent were resolved in less than three months. This figure increased by 0.28 percent compared to 2023.
In terms of case settlement, the Supreme Court has completed the mitation and sent a copy of the decision to the court for submission as many as 31,162 cases, an increase of 9.64 percent from the previous year.

A total of 30,070 cases or 96.50 percent of the total cases that were diminated and sent to thejury court were completed in less than three months.
"The time for case mitation in 2024 has increased by 6.18 percent from 2023 which amounts to 90.32 percent. This achievement is the highest in MA history," said Sunarto.
