Implement Children's Care Program, Ministry Of Education Proudly Releases Age Groups That Are In The Category
JAKARTA - Secretary of the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemenduk bangga), Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos, M.Pol. Admin., Ph.D. positively welcomes the acceptance of the Early Childhood Care Index by the Ministry of National Development Planning (KemenPPN)/Bappenas as one of the indicators of the 2025-2029 draft National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
In this index there are variables that are the focus. Namely, only 14% of parents accompany early childhood in the use of gadgets/social media/internets (BPS, 2021); Only 69% of young children chat/talk with their parents (BPS, 2021); Only 59% of children aged 6-23 months eat various foods (BPS, 2023); and the limited number of early childhood children from decil 1 to 4 families who have birth certificates, health insurance and live in decent houses, especially in NTT and Papua.
In an effort to increase the Early Childhood Care Index, the Ministry of Education and Culture/BKKBN held a Call to Action: Index. Early Childhood Care online, recently.
When opening the event, Prof. Budi mentioned the projected number and percentage of the population aged 0 to 9 years for the total population which has decreased since 2025, and will continue until 2050.
"This of course has implications for children's values and appropriate parenting patterns. This data can be the basis for determining population policies and family development to ensure optimal care and achieve Golden Indonesia," said Prof. Budi.
As the basis for determining population policies and family development, the minister said that the Ministry of Education and Culture/BKKBN had implemented the 2024 Family Data Collection Update. In this update, 75.6 million families were registered.
Based on this data, there are 12,926,644 toddler families consisting of 3,784,725 families who have children aged 0-23 months and 9,141,919 families who have children aged 24-59 months. "This age group is an important target in the implementation of the parenting program that we carry out," said Prof. Budi.
Apart from being listed in the Draft RPJMN 2025-2029, the Early Childhood Care Index has also been listed in the Draft Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the Ministry of Education and Culture/BKKBN 2025-2029. This index consists of five dimensions measured with 13 variables. The dimension is health; nutrition; early stimulation; responsive parenting; as well as safety and safety.

According to him, in 2023 the Early Childhood Care Index was recorded at 54.31 and increased in 2024 to 55.06. Indications of the target index from 2025 to 2029 according to the province have been set. In 2029, the national target indication is 57.43.
