Weather Still Bad, BBKSDA NTT Extends Closing Tourist Visits To Timau Mutistics National Park
The Center for Natural Resources Conservation (BBKSDA) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has extended the temporary closure of tourist visits to the Timau Mutistics National Park on Timor Island, due to bad weather in the area.
"The temporary closure will be extended from February 15 to March 15, 2025," said Head of BBKSDA NTT Arief Mahmud in Kupang, Friday.
Previously, on January 28, the NTT BBKSDA had temporarily closed the natural tourism area for the same reason, namely bad weather.
The closure was also carried out because at the end of January, there were four visitors who experienced hypothermia. They were then treated at the puskesmas and currently the condition of the four visitors is healthy again.
In addition, previously from September 5 to November 17, 2024, there were six cases of hypothermia in visitors, which was generally caused by the limited equipment brought.
