Minister Of Transportation Ensures Free Homecoming For Eid 2025 Remains Amid Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi ensured that Leberan 2025 free homecoming programs remain and run amid the efficiency of the government's budget.

"God willing, there will be a (free Lebaran homecoming program)," he told reporters in Jakarta, written Friday, February 14.

Dudy admitted that he was on a working visit with a stakeholder who organizes free homecoming to coordinate the implementation of the Lebaran 2025 free homecoming so that it is right on target.

"This is my roadshow again meeting with stakeholders who are holding free homecoming, so that we can coordinate this well," he said.

Dudy hopes that transportation SOEs and the Ministry of Transportation can coordinate so that free homecoming arrangements can be carried out and are also managed safely.

With this free homecoming coordination, continued Dudy, the load factor or occupancy rate will be higher. Because, there are no travelers who make reservations in several places for violating the homecoming for free.

"We hope that it will be higher, so that there will be no travelers who have reservations in several places," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi visited the office of the Ministry of SOEs to meet with Erick Thohir.

Dudy's presence is to discuss the readiness of Eid homecoming transportation or Eid al-Fitr 2025.

At the meeting, Dudy said that he conveyed several preparations based on a special evaluation of the previous Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) homecoming transportation so that the 2025 Eid homecoming transportation or 1446 H Eid al-Fitr could be better.

"Some of the things we discussed, discuss from the results of the evaluation that Nataru yesterday and also from the evaluation of the Eid transportation last year (2024)," he said at a press conference, at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 21.

Dudy said that the implementation of the 2025 Eid homecoming transportation could not be separated from the cooperation between regulators and operators.

"Our hope is that the 2025 Eid transportation will run smoothly and safely," he said.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the meeting with Minister of Transportation Dudy was to synchronize policies or technical steps regarding the preparation of state-owned companies in the transportation sector to anticipate homecoming and the return flow of Eid this year.

"We really need this synchronization, in line with the President's direction to ensure that services to the public can be maximized," said Erick.
