Oilita Price In Eastern Indonesia Capai Rp17,300 Per Liter, Minister Of Trade: Rare Distributors
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso said the price of simple packaged cooking oil with the Minita trademark was still quite high.
In fact, in Eastern Indonesia the price is above Rp. 17,300 per liter.
The national average price of Oilita is currently IDR 17,300 per liter.
Meanwhile, the highest retail price (HET) for Oilita set by the government is IDR 15,700 per liter.
The HET applies to all regions in Indonesia.
Budi admitted that the price of Oilita in Eastern Indonesia is indeed higher with other regions. This is because in this area there are limited Oilita distributors.
The eastern areas are still a bit high. The problem is why? Because there are rarely distributors there," he said during a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, in Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.
Meanwhile, continued Budi, for other regions such as Aceh, Banten, and Lampung, the price of Oilita has actually begun to decline.
To overcome this considerable price imbalance, Budi said the government had brought together Food SOEs with 46 producers of Oilita to help distribute the oil.
There is an agreement that the producer will supply Oilita to ID FOOD and Bulog. The average is for Bulog per month 50,000 tons, then for ID FOOD 50,500 tons to meet the needs in the eastern region especially," he said.

Furthermore, Budi said, additional supplies for the Food SOEs will run effectively next week.
"That will be activated soon and hopefully the plan will be implemented next week, last week the agreement can be made," he said.
