KPK Investigators Will Visit The Hospital Where Mbak Ita Is Being Treated
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will visit the K.R. T Wongsonegoro Regional Hospital in Semarang City. This step is to check whether the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu is sick so that she cannot fulfill the summons as a suspect today.
Mbak and her husband, who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Arwin Basri, should have been summoned regarding allegations of corruption at the Semarang City Government.
However, both of them were not seen at the KPK office because Mbak Ita suddenly entered the hospital.
"We need to check, investigators will check whether this issue is true or not. We don't want this issue to be true," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 11.
Tessa has not specified the exact time of arrival of investigators. However, a team of doctors will also be brought to confirm the condition of the suspect in the corruption case.
The KPK does not want any party to try to deceive the investigator. Or there are parties who deliberately condition so that the person concerned can not attend, "he said.
"Maybe colleagues know that there is a case like that handled by the KPK. Of course we will make sure in real terms, correctly and according to the rules that whether the person concerned is sick or not," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.
From this direct check, investigators will determine the follow-up. Moreover, Mbak Ita and her husband have repeatedly failed to fulfill the KPK's summons.
"If it hurts to what extent the person concerned must be hospitalized, and if not, of course there will be steps that will be taken by the investigator both to the person concerned and to AB's brother," explained Tessa.
