Sign Reshuffle, Prabowo Wants Minister To Avoid Polemics That Make Noise

President Prabowo Subianto indicated that he would reshuffle or reshuffle in the ranks of the Red and White Cabinet, especially for ministers whose performance was considered poor and did not work for the benefit of the people.

This was conveyed by the president when giving a speech at the 102nd Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Harlah event at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, last Wednesday, February 5. Political observer of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Bakir Ihsan, assessed that the statement related to the reshuffle was issued because Prabowo was furious with the ministerial policy which caused polemics and made the public noisy.

He gave an example of the policy of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, which removed the sale of 3 kilograms of LPG gas among retailers. The policy sparked strong protests and noise in a number of areas which eventually forced Prabowo to intervene to cancel the policy.

Previously, continued Bakir, the Prabowo government was also bothered by the controversy over the sea fence on the Tangerang coast which dragged the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/National Land Agency.

"3 kilograms of LPG cases and sea fences can be a problem that is not solved easily because it turns out that there are many cases that then appear that must be handled and must be handled quickly," he said, Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Bakir added that Prabowo was also a bit disappointed with his assistants who seemed to be working not optimally and were not willing to comply with budget efficiency instructions at the ministry. In fact, Prabowo wants to immediately optimize priority programs such as eating free nutritious food and food self-sufficiency.

"I think the president's statement is more responsive to existing cases and warned the ministers to be solid to a large framework of efficiency and handling problems that should be resolved quickly," concluded Bakir.
