UN Special Reporter Criticism Of Israel's Spicy Withdraw From Human Rights Council: This Shows Their Suffocation

JAKARTA - The UN Special Reporter for the Population Territories called Israel's decision to withdraw from the UN Human Rights Council "very serious".

Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said his country had notified UNHRC that they were following in the footsteps of the United States withdrawing from UN DK.

Israel accuses it of "continuous and relentless institutional bias" against Israel.

"This shows my arrogance and lack of realization of what they (Israel) have done. They insist on feeling right on their own, that they don't need to be responsible, and they prove it to the entire international community,"OKel Albanese told Reuters on Thursday, February 6.

Albanese said she was concerned that Israel's genocide' against Palestine would expand and increase in the West Bank, which Palestine wants along with Gaza as the core of an independent country in the future.

Israel denies accusations it has committed genocide and says it protects its legitimate security interests in the West Bank and Gaza, where a fragile ceasefire now takes effect after a 16-month war against Islamist militant groups Hamas.

The northern part (West Tepi) was attacked primarily by soldiers. The southern part was mainly attacked by settlers (Israel), and you can see this as an attack on the Palestinian people as a whole," Albanese said.

Commenting on US President Donald Trump's surprising proposals about the US being able to "take over" Gaza, Albanese said: "Trump destroys basic principles of respect for human rights in various spectra, not only in Palestine. We have moved further into a deep ravine."

"I'm surprised that European countries remain silent and don't get up and say, 'This is absolutely nonsense, and we will not tolerate this'," he added.
