Preparation Of The Tourism Bill, Kemenpar And Commission VII DPR Agree To Continue

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) together with Commission VII DPR RI agreed to continue discussions regarding the preparation of the Tourism Draft Law (RUU).

This agreement was reached in a working meeting between the Ministry of Tourism and Commission VII of the DPR RI at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (3/2/2025). During this discussion, Menpar Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized that the bill should prioritize important aspects in tourism development.

The first is the strengthening of content in the four pillars of tourism development by including important aspects in the tourism ecosystem. Then, occupying human resources (human resources) tourism as the foundation of the four pillars of tourism development.

Widiyanti said that this bill also needs aspects that accommodate arrangements related to planning, supervision, and control in the context of tourism development. "With this proposed change, we hope that the Tourism Bill can make a real contribution to the progress of Indonesian tourism," he said.

Responding to this, the Chairman of Commission VII of the DPR, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, who played the role of chair of the meeting, encouraged the Ministry of Tourism to coordinate with related parties to finalize this draft. "Hopefully the discussion of this law can run well," said Saleh.
