Jasa Raharja Pays 19 Victims of Deadly Accident at GT Ciawi

JAKARTA A total of 19 people became victims in a fatal accident that occurred at the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT), Katulampa Village, Bogor City. Jasa Raharja ensured that all victims would receive compensation.

"All victims will receive compensation from Jasa Raharja," said Jasa Raharja's President Director, Rivan Achmad Purwantono, to reporters, Wednesday, February 5.

Currently, Jasa Raharja is still identifying the victims who died. It is known, the identities of the eight victims who died are still in the process of collecting data.

Meanwhile, 11 injured victims have received medical treatment in the hope of recovering soon.

Jasa Raharja will also provide compensation to Jasa Marga officers who were also victims of the incident. Of the four officers who were affected, two of them suffered serious injuries and two others suffered minor injuries.

"The Jasa Marga officers who are victims will also receive guarantees from Jasa Raharja, because this is part of the accident that occurred," said Rivan.

This deadly accident occurred on Tuesday night at around 23.30 WIB. The incident began when a gallon truck was traveling from Ciawi to Jakarta. Allegedly experiencing a failed brake, the truck lost control right at the toll gate and crashed into five other vehicles.

As a result of the massive collision, three vehicles including trucks caught fire, while the other two were badly damaged.

Of the total 19 victims, 11 were injured, with three of them seriously injured.

Meanwhile, eight minor injuries were: - Ari Nuharom - Wahyudin - Nurdin Ahyani - Yogi Satrio - Yosep Irawan - Dasep Naseh - Sugiarti - Ryuji Adriana

The police are still conducting further investigations regarding the cause of the accident, including checking the technical conditions of the truck before the incident occurred.
