Not On The Door Meeting, This Is The Best Area To Save Eggs In The Refrigerator

Keeping food ingredients properly must be done so that the quality is well maintained. One of them is chicken eggs, which if stored in the refrigerator should not be arbitrary, because it has the potential to make Salmonella bacteria breed.

Usually the eggs are stored on a shelf in the refrigerator door area. However, egg storage shouldn't be in that area, according to chef and culinary expert from Harper Fine Dining, Dean Harper, quoted from Mirror UK, on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Dean Harper said that there are other areas in the refrigerator whose temperature is right to maintain the freshness of the eggs. Ideally, the eggs are stored in the refrigerator with a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius to last a long time.

Store the eggs in the coldest part of the refrigerator, to maximize the storage period. The coldest area of the refrigerator is on the bottom shelf or the back of the refrigerator, whose temperature is relatively stable.

In these two areas there is no decrease in temperatures such as when the refrigerator door is often opened. Therefore, it is not ideal to impact eggs on the refrigerator door area rack because the temperature can change quickly when the refrigerator is opened.

By storing eggs in the two refrigerator areas, it will not make the egg whites watery. The watery part of the egg white means that it is not fresh and unfit for consumption.

Not only that, but Harper Dean also suggested storing eggs in the original container or box. This is a simple step to help maintain the quality of eggs.
