Head Of Basarnas Orders Investigation Of Incident Of Exploding Ship That Killed 3 Ternate SAR Team Personnel

Head of Basarnas Kusworo ordered an investigation into the explosion of the Ternate SAR Office fast boat that killed three members of the joint SAR team while carrying out humanitarian duties in the waters of Gita, South Oba, Tidore Islands City, North Maluku.

"The Central Basarnas investigation team is planned to depart for Ternate this afternoon," said Kusworo in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, February 3.

This investigation is not only to investigate the cause of the explosion of the RIB 04 fast ship, the Ternate SAR Office, which claimed lives, but also to thoroughly evaluate the implementation of SAR operations, so that the same thing does not happen again in the future.

"The SAR operation is in accordance with the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), rescue competence, defense equipment readiness conditions such as ships, planes, helicopters. and other equipment in Ternate," he said.

Apart from that, this three-star General of the Indonesian Air Force expressed his deep condolences for the deaths of three joint SAR teams and a number of other members who experienced the unfortunate incident. Kusworo hopes that the missing victim, a television journalist, can be found soon.

The Directorate of Polairud of the North Maluku Police reported that the fast/speedboad RIB 04 Ternate SAR Office used by a number of members of the joint SAR team exploded at around 00.00 WIT last night.

This incident occurred when the joint SAR team was in an operation to rescue two fishermen whose ships had turned off in the waters of Gita.

The explosion killed three victims, including members of the North Maluku Regional Police Ditpolairud named Bharatu Mardi Hadji and two members of Basarnas Fadli M Malagapi, and M. Riski Esa.

Meanwhile, one missing person is still in the process of being called Sahril Helmi, who is a television journalist for Metro TV.

Then seven other people were declared safe and have received medical treatment. The survivors were initially found by the fast boat KM Cantika Lestari 10 which was sailing from Gita Harbor to Manado. They were then evacuated to Gita Harbor and received medical treatment at the Sukare Health Center before being moved to Ternate using KM Pandudewanata.
