Basarnas Moves To Find A 50-year-old Man Lost In The Current When Crossing The River In South Halmahera
JAKARTA - A 50-year-old resident was swept away by the swift current while trying to cross a river in Panamboang Village, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku.
The head of the Ternate Basarnas, Iwan Ramdani, said that the victim, named Gerimis Bahi, was lost in the river current on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 15.00 WIT.
At around 18.15 WIT, the SAR Team was deployed after receiving the report. A number of rescue equipment from rescue cars, palm water, medical Palsar, evacuation palmars and communication palsars were deployed.
Until this news was revealed, the victim had not been found.

On the same day at 04.50 WIT, the SAR Team also carried out a search operation for the residents of Subaim Village, East Halmahera, who were missing in the forest of Mount Putih.
The victim initially hunted birds with a colleague in the forest of Mount Putih on January 29, 2025 at 10.00 WIT. However, in the midst of his activity, the victim separated from his colleague near the Mali Tolawi area.
Until late at night, the family did not find the victim back home.
Residents and the victim's family then conducted a search but did not find any results until Thursday, January 30. Furthermore, information on the victim's disappearance was submitted to Basarnas.
Basarnas Ternate, which has been searching since Friday, January 31, 2025 at 05.10 WIT, has yet to find results.
