Minister Yohana Affirms Raskin Is The Cause Of Malnutrition In Asmat In Today's Memory, January 31, 2018

JAKARTA Memories of today, seven years ago, January 31, 2018, the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Yohana Yembise, criticized the poor rice (rackin) program as a reason for the malnutrition in Asmat, Papua. Raskin's provision is believed for Asmat residents to no longer grow sweet potatoes and sago.
Previously, in early January 2018, problems with malnutrition arose in Asmat. This condition became even more excited when the Regent of Asmat announced the status of an area with malnutrition as an extraordinary event (KLB). People also call it an Asmat Tragedy.
The government often boasts about Indonesia's abundant natural wealth. Many foodstuffs are easy to grow in Earth Earth. This condition is considered a guarantee that food sources can meet the nutrition throughout Indonesia.
In fact, this picture is only on paper. Originally, Indonesia, which has abundant natural wealth, was often shocked by the emergence of cases of malnutrition. Take for example what happened in Asmat, Papua in early January 2018.
The problem of malnutrition is a complicated matter faced by many families in Asmat. Those who became Measles patients reached 652 people and those who were declared malnutrition reached 223 children. The number of people with malnutrition made the Regent of Asmat, Elisa Kambu kadar-kabut.
He took a stand by setting Asmat's case of malnutrition as a KLB on January 9, 2018. This decision made the whole of Indonesia excited. Criticism against the central government began to arrive. Malnutrition incidents were also linked to the lack of attention from the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) government to the Papua region.
The government is considered to only understand that it disburses large funds without understanding the supervision of funds. This condition makes the development slow and health facilities far from maximal. In fact, with large funds, the government can improve nutritional affairs in Asmat.
The incidence of malnutrition in Asmat became a KLB like a hard slap to the Indonesian government to care more about areas outside Java. This condition made the government immediately take a stand by sending doctors and nutritionists to Asmat.
"Tragedi Asmat shows that large state money disbursement is not automatically able to improve public welfare and health. There are many problems that cause distortion, from the possibility of leakage to the use of funds that are not on target."
"You seem to be the reason for only raising the budget every year, but they don't enjoy it. In fact, many children in Asmat Regency, Papua, are suffering from malnutrition andcampus disease," wrote Tempo magazine report entitled Tersengar Tragedi Asmat (2018).
Criticism and criticism of the government do not always arise from various elements of society. Criticism also arises from the ranks of the government itself. Yohana Yembise, for example. The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection has its own views on the Asmat Tragedy.
Yohana is of the view that malnutrition in Asmat is because the government often shares RAskin. This view was revealed on January 31, 2018. According to Yohana, the Raskin program actually makes Asmat residents dependent. Once a long time of sharing, the Asmat people are increasingly malnourished.
Raskin is also the one who makes staple foods for Asmat residents uniformly become rice. In the past, Asmat residents often used sweet potatoes and sago as staple food. However, because they are used to raskin they no longer growing sago and sweet potatoes. They are just waiting for raskin.

They are not used to planting and eating sago and sweet potatoes. Even though in the past sago and sweet potatoes were their staple foods. The food has changed because it is now dependent on the raskin government program.
"I have to get close to the mothers there to do a movement for example a thousand mothers planting a thousand sago trees, a thousand mothers planting sweet potatoes. The problem of cleanliness is also a problem there," said Yohana after a ministerial-level coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) as quoted by the quarterws.com page, January 31, 2018.
