Egypt Tentang Penggusuran Warga Gaza, Presiden Sisi: Solusi Dua Negara Adalah Hak Historis
JAKARTA - Egypt will not participate in the eviction of Palestinians, an "inequality" that would threaten Egypt's security, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said in his first public response to US President Donald Trump's call for Cairo to accept Gaza Strip citizens on Wednesday.
Speaking at a news conference with Kenyan President William Ruto who was visiting, President Sisi said Egypt would work closely with Trump to achieve peace between Israel and Palestine based on a two-state solution.
"Regarding what is said about the transfer of Palestinians, it cannot be tolerated or permitted because of its impact on Egypt's national security," President Sisi said.
"Deportation or eviction of Palestinians is an injustice that we cannot follow," he stressed.
Earlier, President Trump on Saturday said Egypt and Jordan should accept Palestinians from Gaza, whom he called a "dismantling location" after 15 months of Israeli bombings that left most of its 2.3 million residents homeless.
Sisi's president said if he asked President Trump's advice to the Egyptian people, they would take to the streets to refuse the transfer of Palestinians.
"The two-state solution is a historic right that cannot be ignored," said President Sisi, adding President Trump was "able to achieve that goal for a just and permanent peace in the Middle East".

It is known, any suggestion that Palestinians leave Gaza, the region they want to form as part of an independent country, has been a curse to Palestinian leadership for generations and has repeatedly been rejected by neighboring Arab countries since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
On the other hand, Jordan has become home to several million Palestinians, while tens of thousands live in Egypt. Both the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jordan have rejected Trump's advice in recent days.
