This Oscar Winner Actors Lives Without Cell Phones And Chooses To Watch DVD
JAKARTA - In a world that is increasingly dependent on technology, having a smartphone is very common. However, there is one Oscar-winning actor who chooses not to follow this trend.
In his interview with The Wall Street Journal, Christopher Walken revealed that his personal relationship with technology did not exist at all.
Christopher admitted that he did not have a cellphone and could only watch TV using a satellite on the roof of his house. In fact, he did not even watch his appearance in the first season of the drama series entitled Severance aired on Apple TV+. This 81-year-old asked Apple TV+ to send him a DVD copy.
"I don't have the technology. I only have a satellite at my house. So, I watched Severance via DVD. They were so kind, because they wanted to send me a copy," said Walken, quoted by VOI from Variety's page on Wednesday, January 29.
"I don't have a cell phone. I never sent an email or anything, Twitter or something," he continued.

Walken himself won the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations thanks to his performances in the first season of Severance.
"This role is a very special job. It's mysterious, but funny and scary, which I've always considered a good combination," he said.
He also added that another factor that made him feel connected to the project was the director of Severance, Ben Stiller, who he had known 30 years ago. In addition, there is also actor John Turturro who he has known for 40 years playing the film.
"When you get to know someone for so long, it can be seen. You can know that these actors like each other," he said.
This Walken career in its 80s is increasingly stealing attention through its roles in several big titles, such as Denis Villeneuve's Severance and Dune. In the film Dune: Part Two, Walken plays Emperor Shaddam IV. When asked if he would return in the Dune part 3 film based on the Dune Messiah novel, Walken said he didn't know yet.
"I don't think I've ever finished a job and know what I'm going to do next," said Walken.
"'Why did you choose that?', I often hear questions like that. And in reality, I didn't make a choice. I accepted the job. I took the next best. It's related to art, who you're going to work with, sometimes location, how much to pay. Many factors. I hope to make a choice." he continued.
