HGB Certified Sea Fence Case, Mahfud MD Surprised There Has Been No Firm Action By The Legal Apparatus

TANGERANG - Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD encourages the criminal legal process against the alleged issuance of building rights certificates (SHGB) and title certificates (SHM) in Tangerang Regency waters.

According to Mahfud, the revocation of the process of issuing SHGB and SHM in a 30.16 km sea fence in the waters of Tangerang Regency is not enough.

"The illegal HGB certificate for the sea cannot only be canceled, but must be punished because it is a collusion product that violates the law. The Constitutional Court's verdict No. 3/PUU-VIII/2010 and Law no. 1 of 2014 clearly prohibits the exploitation of coastal waters for the private sector or individuals. This case is different from reclamation, "said Mahfud MD in the X account @MohmahfudMD quoted on Tuesday, January 28.

Mahfud assessed that the case of sea fencing in the waters of Tangerang Regency indicated malicious conspiracy such as collusion and corruption.

He encouraged law enforcement officials to immediately carry out their duties, not only to demolish the sea fence but to conduct investigations.

"Seagaring cases should have been declared a criminal case immediately, not just crowded with fences. Will it be investigated and fingerprinted immediately. There are natural grabs, illegal certificates, alleged collusion-corruption," he said.

Mahfud also admitted that he was surprised by the clear indication that until now there had been no firm action from the legal apparatus.

"But how come there are criminal law enforcement officers who are firm?" he added.

For information, a 30.16 km long sea fence is installed in the waters of Tangerang Regency. The fence embedded in the sea also has a land certificate.

The case of this sea fence case in monitoring the Attorney General's Office (AGO) is still within the limits of whether or not there are allegations of corruption.

"According to our authority, is there a criminal incident indicated to be corruption," said Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar to VOI, Thursday, January 23.
