Prabowo Remembers Soekarno's Footsteps In At Home Reception In India

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended the honorary reception of "At Home Reception" which took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Palace, New Delhi, India, on Sunday, January 25, 2025.

President Prabowo's presence is an important part of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India that have been closely established since the era of President Soekarno. This moment also reminded history when President Soekarno was an honorary guest on the first Day of the Republic of India in 1950, marking the beginning of the friendship between the two great Asian countries.

The "At Home Reception" event is a special tradition held by the Indian government to honor the main guest of honor or Chief Guest on the commemoration of Republican Day. This tradition is also a symbol of deep respect for state guests who are present in Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India.

President Prabowo arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan and was warmly welcomed by Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After a warm meeting in the main area, President Prabowo accompanied President Murmu to Central Lawns, the main location of the event, to take part in a series of ceremonies.

At Central Lawns, the event began with the raising of the Indian national anthem, which marked the start of official activities. President Prabowo and President Murmu then toured the area to greet invited guests who attended, consisting of various circles, including high-ranking Indian officials, recipients of honorary medals, and diplomatic representatives from various countries.

The presence of guests from various parts of the world shows the importance of this event as a diplomatic and international friendship event.

As part of the event, the leaders of the country, including President Prabowo, took a photo together with the backdrop of a beautiful park in Central Lawns. The warmth of relations between Indonesia and India can be seen clearly at this moment, reflecting the line of cooperation that has continued since the era of the nation's founders.

The event ended with a "roll of drums" session and the re-play of the Indian national anthem, adding to the solemn atmosphere in Rashtrapati Bhavan. After the series of events, President Murmu escorted President Prabowo's departure to the North Court, closing the visit with warm farewells.

President Prabowo's presence at this event emphasized the commitment of the two countries to strengthen long-standing diplomatic relations. This moment is also a reflection of the spirit of friendship rooted in history, as well as a common vision to realize strategic cooperation in the future.
