Security For Isra Mi'raj And Chinese New Year 2025 Celebrations In Lampung Tightened With 1,384 Personnel

JAKARTA - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) deployed 1,384 personnel to ensure security during the celebration of Isra Mi'raj Nabi Muhammad SAW 1446 Hijriah and the 2025 Chinese New Year (1129 Kongzili) in the Lampung region.

"We have assigned 1,384 personnel, including 172 from the Lampung Regional Police. The main focus of this security is to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere so that religious people can carry out their worship solemnly," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Yuni Iswandari Yuyun, in Bandarlampung, Sunday, as quoted by ANTARA.

He explained that all personnel under the coordination of the Lampung Police were involved to maintain the security and public order situation (kamtibmas) during the celebration of the two moments.

"Security includes mosques, prayer rooms, monasteries, and pagodas spread across various areas of Lampung," he explained.

Based on data, Lampung has 11,691 prayer rooms and 10,407 mosques with a total Muslim population of 8,273,784 people. Meanwhile, there are 98 monasteries for the Buddhist community, totaling 23,966 people, and 19 pagodas for Confucians as many as 134 people.

"Personnel have been placed in strategic locations, including around places of worship. We also regulate patrols and traffic control to avoid congestion in crowded areas," he added.

Kombes Pol Yuni added that this security was carried out in coordination with the management of places of worship to ensure smooth activities and minimize potential disturbances.

In addition to maintaining security, the moment of celebration is also expected to be a symbol of strengthening tolerance among religious believers in Lampung.

"As an area rich in diversity, we want to ensure that every ummah can carry out its worship safely. Hopefully this step creates a sense of security and comfort for the whole community," he said.

He also appealed to the people of Lampung to continue to maintain the value of tolerance and provide opportunities for all religious adherents to carry out their worship peacefully.

"Towards Isra Mi'raj and Chinese New Year, let's make tolerance the basis for strengthening unity. With the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, we must respect and respect each other's diversity in Indonesia," he concluded.
