The Gubug-Karangjati Rail Route Is Reconnected, 22 Train Trips Are Still Around
SEMARANG - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) confirmed that the rail line at the crossing between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station, which was cut off due to flooding in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, on Friday morning, had been reconnected for one lane.
"One of the lanes has been repaired and can be crossed by trains at limited speed," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Franoto Wibowo, as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 24.
He explained that the Harina train for the Bandung-Surabaya relationship became the first train to cross the route at 05.06 WIB.
Although the line has been connected, Franoto continued, several train trips still use a rotating operational pattern through the Brumbung-Gandoh-Gambringan or Solo route. There are at least 22 train trips that are still turning to this day.
"There are 13 trains whose trips are still turning through Solo, such as Argo Bromo Anggrek, Sembrani, Gumarang, Pandalungan, and Blambangan Ekspres," he said.
In addition, PT KAI was also forced to cancel the Kedungsapur and Blora Jaya train trips, even though the rail line had been reconnected.
Franoto ensured that the train travel schedule would return to normal gradually in line with the process of repairing the cut route.
"Current traffic densities are still happening and will gradually decay," he added.
