Investigating Allegations Of Corruption, Police Summon Banggai Regency Government Official

PALU - Central Sulawesi Police continue to investigate allegations of abuse of authority or corruption in Banggai Regency. The police claimed to have received information reports about the alleged case.

Head of Sub-Division of Penmas Polda Central Sulawesi AKBP Sugeng Lestari said that his party is currently conducting an examination of officials within the Banggai Regency Government.

"Meanwhile, 18 witnesses have been examined, consisting of 15 sub-district heads, the Head of BPKAD, the Head of the Tapem and the Head of the Legal Division," he said, quoted on Thursday, January 23.

From the information gathered, investigators asked for clarification from the Camat-Camat in the Banggai Regency Government regarding the documents of the Decree (SK), the Regional Head Circular, RKA each sub-district, RAB, and minutes of a meeting to deliver financial notes, as well as documents related to the APBD and DPA for the 2024 fiscal year.

He said investigators were still gathering evidence related to the alleged corruption case. This case was handled seriously by the Central Sulawesi Police Ditreskrimsus.

"The collection of the data in question includes asking for clarification or statements from several witnesses and collecting the required documents," he explained.

He emphasized that there were no suspects in this case. His party is still working so that the case can be clear by gathering information and evidence.

"There is no (suspect) yet, the police are also still at the data collection stage, not yet at the investigation stage," he added.
