The US-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Contributes To Indo-Pacific Prosperity And Security
JAKARTA - United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed bilateral cooperation to conflicts in the Middle East during a phone call with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.
US State Department Spokesman Tammy Bruce said the two Foreign Ministers acknowledged the importance of the relationship between the United States and Indonesia, quoted from the US State Department website January 23.
"Foreign Minister Rubio and Foreign Minister Sugiono recognize the importance of US-Indonesia relations, affirming the contribution of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a safe and prosperous Indo-Pacific region," he said.
Bruce further explained that the two main diplomats of each country discussed the importance of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, including the exchange of views on maritime security in the South China Sea.
Not only that, the two ministers also discussed economic and trade cooperation that benefits the two countries.
"The two leaders also expressed a shared commitment to prioritizing national economic growth and acknowledged the importance of working together to deepen trade and investment in areas that benefit the two countries," he explained.
