Trump's Envoy Will Go To Gaza Monitor The Compliance Of Gaza's Armistice
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump's envoy for the Middle East will travel to Gaza to monitor ceasefire compliance.
In an interview with Fox News, envoy Steve Witkoff, also said he believed all countries in the region could participate in normalizing relations with Israel.
Witkoff said Qatar was an important player in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Qatar, Egypt, and the United States brokered a multi-phase agreement between Israel and Hamas militants. The two Arab countries have built communication centers in Cairo to prevent new clashes between the two hostile countries.
Witkoff told Fox the implementation of the deal, which took effect on Sunday, would be more difficult than its implementation.
"I'm actually going to Israel. I will be part of the inspection team in the Netzarim corridor, and also in the Philadelphia corridor," Witkoff said.
Netzarim is Israel's east-west route during the war that blocked free movement of Palestinians between northern and southern Gaza. Philadelphia is a narrow border between Gaza and Egypt.

"That's where you have a supervisor from outside, to make sure that people are safe and people who enter are unarmed and no one has bad motivation," continued Witkoff.
Trump's remarks appear to be the first public confirmation of US involvement in Gaza to help keep the deal on track.
