According to Raymond Tjipto, VP of Strategy and Business Operations in Populix, this index is designed to provide wider access to public information on quality master programs.
"We are compiling this ranking through in-depth discussions with academics, representatives of Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDikti), and various other expert resource persons. The goal is to provide data-based guidance so that prospective students can make the right decisions," Raymond said in his presentation in Jakarta, recently.
The index is designed based on data from state and private universities, including the number of scientific publications and satays taken from the Dikti and SINTA Data Bases until June 2024.
The analysis is carried out based on Tridharma Universities, namely education and teaching (45 percent), research and development (45 percent), and community service (10 percent).
Rio Yusri Maulana, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Jambi University, emphasized the importance of public understanding of the quality of the master's degree program.
"Many prospective students do not understand the main indicators of the quality of the master's program. The presence of this index helps them choose programs that are in accordance with personal and professional needs," he explained.
This research also allows the public to browse master's programs based on 10 categories of science clumps, such as economy, education, health, and engineering. Each program is equipped with university profiles, assessment details, number of publications, and accreditation status to provide complete information.
