The Bodies Of Victims Of The Glodok Plaza Mall Fire Are Difficult To Recognize, The Forensic Team Checks DNA And Odontograms

JAKARTA - Dozens of people consisting of 7 families who were victims of the Glodok Plaza Mall fire came to the ante mortem post at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta on Friday afternoon, January 17, 2025. They came to confirm whether the victim's body was really a member of his family.

"Now at the ante mortem post there are 7 families consisting of 30 people," said the Head of the Police Hospital, Brigadier General Prima Heru Yulihartono, to reporters.

The reason is, the 5 bodies that have been evacuated have not been identified because they suffered perfect burns, making it difficult to identify them.

"It's been burned, (the victim's condition) is not intact. We will check the Odontogram and DNA of the fire victims," he said.

The forensic medical team at the National Police Hospital will also re-examine the bodies of fire victims.

Previously, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Jakarta Region said that 14 residents had been reported missing in the fire incident at Glodok Plaza Mall, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

West Jakarta BPBD Task Force Head, Vitus DI said the number of missing people reported to the Command Post currently reaches 14 residents.
