Bahlil Says 7 Industrial Sectors Can Still Enjoy HGBT Cheap Gas
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensured that the seven industries receiving certain Natural Gas Prices (HGBT) or cheap gas will continue. This is intended to keep the seven industries competitive.
"Now, if it feels almost certain from the seven, it is almost certain to continue," said Bahlil, quoted on Friday, January 17.
Bahlil said the implementation of the HGBT could not be ascertained because his party was still reviewing additional proposals for the cheap gas recipient industry sector and calculating economic value.
"Because there is an additional proposal. Well, we are still calculating the additional proposals economically," continued Bahlil.
Furthermore, Bahlil said, the implementation of the HGBT program from 2021 to 2024 made the state revenues converted by Rp. 67 trillion so that the distribution of HGBT must be carried out carefully.

"So don't let all the gas we give to the state HGBT not get income. So we count it right, we have to give it to him, but he must be an industry that creates jobs," said Bahlil.
Just so you know, based on the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia Number 91.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2023 concerning Certain Natural Gas Users and Certain Natural Gas Prices in the Industrial Sector, HGBT will end on December 31, 2024.
This cheap gas policy is aimed at seven industrial groups, namely the fertilizer industry, petrochemicals, oleochemicals, steel, ceramics, glass glasses, and rubber gloves.
